Corrections Policy

Our approach to addressing and correcting errors in our published content.

The Business Tales is committed to accuracy, fairness, and transparency in all of our editorial coverage. While we strive to ensure that all information we publish is factually correct, errors inevitably occur. When they do, we believe in correcting them promptly and visibly.

Our Corrections Standard

We correct significant factual errors that alter the meaning or understanding of an article. This includes inaccurate statistics, misquotes, incorrect dates or names, or flawed analysis based on incorrect data.

We do not typically issue formal corrections for minor typographical errors, spelling mistakes, or formatting issues that do not change the substance or meaning of the content, though we will fix these when identified.

How We Display Corrections

When a factual error is corrected, we update the text of the article and append a "Correction" note, typically at the bottom of the article (or at the top, if the error was fundamental to the entire premise of the piece). The correction note will state:

  • What the original error was
  • What the correct information is
  • The date the correction was made

We do not practice "stealth editing" — the silent removal or alteration of factually inaccurate information without noting that a change has been made.

Retractions

In rare circumstances where an article's central premise is found to be fundamentally flawed, based on fabricated information, or in severe violation of our Editorial Guidelines, we may retract the article entirely. When this occurs, the article text will be removed and replaced with an Editor's Note explaining the reasons for the retraction.

Updates vs. Corrections

A correction is issued when we made an error at the time of publication. An update is used when new information becomes available after publication that clarifies or advances the story. Updates are noted in the text (e.g., "Update: Following publication, Company X released a statement...") but do not imply that the original reporting was incorrect.

How to Report an Error

If you believe you have found a factual error in our coverage, please contact us via our Contact page and select "Correction Request" from the subject dropdown. Please include:

  • The URL of the article
  • The specific information you believe is incorrect
  • The correct information, along with any supporting sources or evidence

Our editorial team will review the request and, if an error is verified, issue a correction in accordance with this policy.
